TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1, 2: Saigon - Mekong Delta

The Mekong Delta is a network of distributaries in southwestern Vietnam, between Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodia. The river itself starts in the Himalayas and passes through China, Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia before reaching Vietnam, which partly explains why the waters are so murky. More than half of Vietnam’s rice and fish comes from the delta region. It’s vital to the Vietnamese economy and diet.

Life in the area revolves around water, from the famous floating markets to the vast agricultural industries. An amazing variety of fruits, flowers and livestock grow in the region. The Mekong River Delta is the rice basket of Vietnam, providing the sustenance for millions.

For tourists, the Mekong Delta brings to mind floating markets and sampan rides through natural tunnels. Countless tour companies offer excursions into the region for tourists. Without a doubt, a day trip is better than not going at all, but we recommend you take some more time to visit as many of these places as you can.

The accommodation options: homestay or hotels, will depend on the local area.

Day 3, 4, 5, 6: Central Highlands - The Old Battlefields

Situated in the central region of Vietnam, the Central Highlands area is very special because there are just a few of western tourist come to visit. Ever since its establishment, this mountainous place has been filled with unique culture from strong ethnic communities and a great variety of natural wonders. There are five provinces in total, which are Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Lam Dong (including Da Lat Town) from north to south.

Da Lat Town is full of Chinese and Russian tourist nowadays, everything are built for tourist. We don't want to bring you to see it.

The B.M.T City is famous nationwide for its planting and production of coffee. Possessing an optimal climate condition and soil characteristic, it is able to produce the highest quality coffee beans compared to other regions across the country. Moving beyond just economic value, coffee has become a specialty of this land, which will be served in the most original Vietnamese style.

You can visit a number of former battlegrounds in Pleiku like Ham Rong Mount, Plei Me post and the former 1st Cavalry Division base at Hon Chong (in An Khe district). One thing you should not miss in this town is the Jarai an Bahnar tribes that live close by. They have a community building called a Rong House where the elders meet for ceremonies and festivals, with gongs, wine, drums and all the precious ceremonial artifacts. The tombs of these tribes are also very interesting.

Sitting in the middle of several ethnic villages, Kontum is a small town with unique ethical aspects. This town had gone through some major battles during war, even today, you still can see the decaying weapons and shell bounds. One significant battle can be counted is the 1972 Easter Offensive/Nguyen Hue Campaign, which played an important role in the mission of reunification the South and the North Vietnam.

The accommodation options: homestay or hotels, will depend on the local area.

Day 7,8,9,10: Hoi An - Hue - DMZ

Hoi An, with more than 2,000 years history, was the principal port of the Cham Kingdom, which controlled the strategic spice trade with Indonesia from the 7th to the 10th century and was a major international port in the 16th and 17th centuries - and the foreign influences are discernible to this day.

The culture & heritage that UNESCO World Heritage Site status for Hoi An Ancient Town was trying to preserve has long since gone. Since 1999, when UNESCO WHS status was awarded, there has been a massive increase in tourism - with the result that most houses have been sold by the community to speculators and shop owners to be used for commercial purposes. The former community, and with it their culture and heritage, has gone and in their place are endless indistinguishable shops, restaurants, art galleries, etc. There are literally hundreds of tailor shops in Hoi An.

Hue is clustered around the Perfume River, which splits the capital of the Nguyễn Dynasty in two. There are endless must-see historic sites, especially those that are UNESCO World Heritage designated. The city went through tough times during the Tet Offensive 1968, when it was conquered by the Viet Cong and held for 24 days. In retaking the city, American forces initially didn't use artillery or air support to avoid damaging ancient buildings but due to heavy casualties these restrictions were relaxed and the city largely destroyed.

DMZ, is the area around the former border between North and South Vietnam. Historically it was a narrow band of terrain extending from the Laos border to the coast, five kilometres on either side of the Ben Hai River, roughly on the 17th parallel north of latitude. The area saw heavy fighting in the war. It's including the old battlefields: Vinh Moc tunnel, Hien Luong bridge, Rockpile, Dackrong bridge, Khe Sanh base.

The accommodation options: homestay or hotels, will depend on the local area.

Day 11,12,13,14,15: The New Ho Chi Minh Trail - North Vietnam - Ha Noi

The Ho Chi Minh Trail was a logistical system that ran from the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam) to the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) through the kingdoms of Laos and Cambodia. The system provided support, in the form of manpower and materiel, to the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam (called the Viet Cong or "VC" by its opponents) and the North Vietnamese Army, during the Vietnam War.

Designated a Unesco World Heritage site in 2003, and with its inclusion as a filming location of Kong: Skull Island, Phong Nha has now become renowned as one of the most beautiful and interesting areas of Vietnam. The remarkable Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park contains the oldest karst mountains in Asia, formed approximately 400 million years ago. Riddled with hundreds of cave systems – many of extraordinary scale and length – and spectacular underground rivers, Phong Nha is a speleologists’ heaven on earth.

The accommodation options: homestay or hotels, will depend on the local area.
